2017 Band Lineup

A Little More About the Bands:

Friday, August 18

Dexter O’Neal and the Funk Yard

From my earliest memories I wanted to be a singer/performer. By age of 3, my grandmother had me singing in little one-room churches in Ferriday, Louisiana every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. By my 5th birthday my parents had moved to Bloomington, Illinois where I grew up singing in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. I learned my craft by ear, which has been a tremendous asset. We’ve opened for Ashford and Simpson, The Temptations, Average White Band, Boosty Collins and Reggie Calloway (Midnight Star).  We’ve been fortunate to have musical encounters with Jerry Garcia, Phil Perry, Patti Labelle, Jeff Beck Band and many more. I love what I do, it truly comes from my heart.

Playing the best of the 80s like Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, Madonna, Def Leppard, Journey, GnR, Simple Minds, The Go Gos, Bon Jovi, and more!

Saturday –

The Craig Russo Latin Jazz Project

The group has released four CDs including “Soul Eyes” which featured Charanga Tropical musical director Doug Little and “Mambo Influenciado” which received extensive radio play throughout the country. “Mambo Influenciado” spent weeks in the top 20 on U.S. Jazz Radio charts with active rotation on over 80 radio stations. Though based out of Southern Illinois, Craig has performed with Charanga Tropical in Chicago and Minneapolis.

Luke and the Drifters

Luke and the Drifters is a country music band based out of Bloomington, Illinois.  The band is comprised of four musicians featuring; Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Luke Maurer,  lead guitarist Trefan Owen, bass guitarist and vocalist, Mark “Tater” Stale and drums and vocalist, Tim Rowden.

Interestingly, Hank Williams, Sr. inspired the name “Luke and the Drifters!  In 1950, the legendary singer/songwriter developed an “alter-ego” that he named “Luke the Drifter” and went on to produce albums under the alter-ego. The name seemed the perfect fit for this talented country group!

This super charged band provides a high energy atmosphere that knows how to rile up music lovers resulting in fun audience interaction, entertaining sing-a-longs and dancing!

Brushville has been igniting stages all over the Midwest for the past 4 years. Being sought out by the BIGGEST and BEST events that the industry has to offer, including Chicago’s Country Music FestivalCountry Fest and Country Thunder in Wisconsin, as well as premiere venues like 2 Time ACM Night Club Of The Year Winner, Joe’s Bar in Chicago, Illinois and Spinnaker Beach Club in Panama City Beach, Florida for spring break!

To prove just how much of an impact Brushville can have, they entered the BATTLE FOR THE SADDLE at Nashville, Tennessee’s legendary Wildhorse Saloon in 2012. Out of the over 300 national bands that entered, Brushville came out on top and was selected the winner by a panel of top industry professionals including Michael Knox (the man credited with “discovering” talents such as Jason Aldean, John Rich and Gretchen Wilson).

Brushville’s current, debut album, produced by multiple GRAMMY® winning, PLATINUM producer Kyle Lehning (Randy Travis), is a solid effort and has been getting major industry attention. In its first week of release, the album charted at #1 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart (North East Central) and #22 on iTunes TOP Country Albums chart! Included on the CD are songs written by some of the best songwriters in Nashville including Tyler Farr (“Redneck Crazy”) who co-wrote the band’s debut single “Baby’s Got Her Boots On” which peaked at #76 on the Music Row chart. Brushville’s current single, “Dangerous,” was written by Nashville songwriting veterans Rhett Akins (“Boys Round Here” by Blake Shelton) and Ben Hayslip (“Only Way I Know” by Jason Aldean) about taking chances in relationships even though you have had heartbreaks in the past.

“We feel like we made a complete album. One that you can put in your CD player or on your iPod and just let it play. The songs have been getting amazing feedback at our live shows already. We wrote a few and got some pitches from some of the heavyweight songwriters in Nashville including Rhett Akins, David Lee Murphy, Rivers Rutherford, Dallas Davidson, Ben Hayslip and more. Some of my favorite writers! It was a dream come true getting to cut their songs and getting to work with our producer Kyle Lehning. One of the all-time great producers in any genre, Kyle had a vision to give us our own ‘sound’ and we achieved that. He really brought the record to the next level and it will lay a very solid foundation for our career. We are so proud of this debut and can’t wait for our fans to hear it,” said lead singer and front-man, Brett Gillan.

Brushville’s impressive resume also includes sharing the stage with some of Country Music’s MEGA-STARS!

Brushville blends five extremely talented musicians, with incredible harmonies, an explosive stage show and a fresh, dynamic sound produced by an array of instruments to create an unforgettable experience for the audience. Brushville has been expanding their assault throughout the nation and is sure to be lighting up your area very shortly.Known for their LIVE shows. Brushville has been playing SOLD OUT shows because of their high energy performances. One reporter compared a Brushville show to a hockey game. “It was an engineering masterpiece as all members could switch out of one song mid-stream and into another seamlessly. It was like watching a hockey game where the players changed, but the action and the game clock kept rolling.”

This isn’t just a band…

It’s an experience.

Welcome to BRUSHVILLE.
